Serdar Aygün


Serdar Aygün was born in Karşıyaka, Turkey in 1977. He was introduced to the mandolin by his father at the age of eight, but when he was twelve years old he began oud lessons with Emin Akkuş, and also received guidance on the instrument from Necmettin Gülfidan and Nuri Karademirli. In 2000 he entered the Ege University State Turkish Music Conservatory, and while there he performed regularly as an oud player for TRT İzmir Radio. After graduating in 2005 he moved to Istanbul, where he joined Mustafa Keser's orchestra, and then in 2010 he began graduate studies in the Turkish Music Department at Haliç University.
