Mithat Çömlekçi

 
Biography

Mithat Çömlekçi was born in 1983 in Konya, Turkey and was introduced to the oud by his father, a keen musician. In 2001 he entered the Selçuk University State Conservatory of Turkish Music, where he studied under Osman Kırklıkçı and Mehmet Uçak. After graduating in 2006 he became an oud instructor at the Conservatory and also studied for his Master's degree. He has performed and recorded with a variety of ensembles, and given concerts in Germany, Greece, the Netherlands and Sudan. He also plays the lavta and tanbur.
