Hosam Hayek
حسام حايك

Hosam Hayek was born in 1970 into a Palestinian family living in Shefa-'Amr (Shfar'am) in northern Israel. He learned to play guitar at the age of ten, but later switched to the oud and soon mastered the instrument. When it came to record his first album Hayek moved to Istanbul for a year to work with the Taksim Trio, comprised of bağlama, kanun and clarinet. He then returned to his homeland to teach Arab music at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
