André Msane was born in 1974 in Kaytouli, a village in southern Lebanon. At the age of fourteen, with his father's encouragement, he began to learn the oud. After graduating he formed the group Nassim Al-Chark, who recorded their debut CD in 2004 and toured Lebanon and France during the next couple of years. Msane is currently a professor at the Lebanese National Higher Conservatory of Music and a member of the National Orchestra for Arabic Oriental Music.
